BEIRUT (IRNA) - Families of four Iranian diplomats kidnapped in the east of Lebanon in 1986 met Hizbollah official Sheikh Nabil Qavooq in southern Lebanon on Sunday.

In the meeting, the families were briefed on the latest about the abduction case and they called on Lebanon to continue efforts until their beloved ones are reunited with their families.
Iran’s Charge d’affaires Mojtaba Ferdowsipoor was also present in the meeting.
The son of one of the Iranian diplomats, Raed Moussavi, said at the meeting that the families awaited exchange of reports between Hizbollah and Israel on the issue so that everything would be clarified.
However, it should be emphasized that the four Iranian diplomats are alive and in Israel’s captivity and signs and reports obtained from former Lebanese and Palestinian prisoners attest the claim and what is said about their killing in Lebanon is not true, he said.
The families had over the past days met Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri, Prime Minister Fuad Siniora, Deputy Secretary General of Hizbollah Nuaim Qassim, the UN Chief’s envoy in Lebanon and several other nationalist and religious figures in the country.
The families met the Lebanese figures on the 26th anniversary of the abduction of four diplomats, including the then Iranian charge d’affaires Mohsen Mousavi, diplomat Taghi Rastegar Moqaddam, military attache’ Ahmad Motevasselian and IRNA photo journalist Kazem Akhavan.
They were kidnapped by Falange militiamen, who were the pawns for Israel, while they were en route from a mission in the north of Lebanon to Iran on July 4, 1982.
According to information, the diplomats are in custody of the usurper regime of occupied Palestinian territories.
Israel has agreed to provide a report on details of the abduction of Iranian diplomats within the framework of prisoners exchange with the Lebanese Hezbollah.
